D-0001 The ticket gate sounds only once per person

Kirino

Observation Period

around 1998 2015-11-09

// Overview

The automatic ticket gates at the station are said to sometimes sound twice in a row for a single person’s passing. No one has passed through the gate in between. The phrase — on a day it sounded twice, one person is forgotten — has been repeated across the years, and memories of who was missing and who remained differ from person to person. What survives are all copies: one letter, one memo someone picked up, one record of a call to the station’s lost-property desk, several pages from an old register at the town office, and a few other items. Where they were collected from is not known.
