D-0002 Please pass the circular on to the next household the same day

// Overview

A column readable as condolences, absent at the time of distribution, is said to have appeared on the paper as the circular was on its way back. The name in the column differed by a single character from the name of someone in the neighborhood, and the accounts run in one order: in the days after a name appeared, people who fell ill followed. Whether the column was there, and how it read, does not agree from one viewer to the next. What survives falls into several kinds. A fragment of an article on a local information site, a transcription of a diary written in the blank margins of a household ledger, exchanges recovered from a resident’s terminal, a copy of a private letter from a mother to her daughter. The circular board itself does not survive.
