May 7 (Thu), clear. 21 present.
Outdoor play, Nichome Park. Hide-and-seek. ◯◯ (2nd grade), who was the seeker, said at pickup that four children hid but that “not yet” came back five times. Did not seem troubled.

May 14 (Thu), cloudy. 19 present.
Outdoor play, Nichome Park. Same account from ◯◯ (3rd grade). The surplus was one.

May 22 (Fri), clear. 20 present.
Outdoor play, Nichome Park. After hide-and-seek had ended and everyone was gathered, several children said a reply came from the depths of the shrubbery. Checked; no one there. The grass on the inside was pressed down, folded inward, at about the height of a crouching child. Presumed to be footprints from groundskeeping.

June 2 (Tue), rain then clear. 22 present.
(Notes) Head count on the way back from the park came out one over. Recount: 22, no discrepancy. Entry corrected.

June 3 (Wed), clear. 20 present.
(Notes) Roll call one over again. Recounted: 20. From now on, roll call to be taken by two staff.

June 5 (Fri).
(Notes) At the recorder’s own request, roll-call duty reassigned.

June 16 (Tue), clear. 23 present.
Outdoor play, Nichome Park. During hide-and-seek, ◯◯ (2nd grade) cried. Says: hid, and properly said “not yet,” but the seeker heard only four. Five children were hiding. Conveyed verbally to the parent at pickup.

June 27 (Sat), clear. 17 present.
Outdoor play, Nichome Park. Similar accounts passed ten for the month. The children mostly find it funny. Shared among staff.

July 1 (Wed), cloudy. 21 present.
At the going-home gathering, told the children that hide-and-seek in Nichome Park is suspended for now. The reason given: maintenance work on the shrubbery.

July 8 (Wed), clear. 20 present.
(Notes) From nearby residents, two calls to date: in the park at dusk, with no one playing, a voice saying “ready yet” and nothing more. Confirmed all club children present in the room, and told them so.
