Hakozaki Reservoir — Water-level and sounding logbook
H21.4.10 Fair. Level 2.10. Point 1 3.2 / Point 2 4.1 / Point 3 4.8 / Point 4 4.3 / Point 5 3.1
Remarks: Nothing unusual. The cherries on the embankment half in bloom.
H21.7.10 Cloudy. Level 2.31. Point 1 3.1 / Point 2 4.0 / Point 3 4.8 / Point 4 4.2 / Point 5 3.0
Remarks: Nothing unusual.
H21.9.11 Fair. Level 2.44. Point 1 3.2 / Point 2 4.1 / Point 3 not measured / Point 4 4.2 / Point 5 3.1
Remarks: Point 3, the weight did not reach the bottom. All 10m of rope paid out. A current may have remained after the typhoon and pulled the rope at an angle. Will measure again tomorrow.
H21.9.12 Fair. Point 3 only, re-measured: 4.9.
Remarks: It reached. I take yesterday’s to have been the current. To be safe, put a 20m rope in the shed. Whether it happens only after high water, I will keep an eye on for a while.
H22.1.8 Fair. Level 1.62. Point 1 3.0 / Point 2 3.9 / Point 3 not measured / Point 4 4.1 / Point 5 2.9
Remarks: Point 3, all 20m of rope paid out and it did not reach. So much for the idea that it comes only after high water. This is a drawdown month with the intake stopped. Changed to a heavier weight and lowered it twice; the same. Thought I might have misread, but a rope paid out to its end cannot be misread.
H22.2.5 Fair. Point 3 only, re-measured: 4.8.
Remarks: It reached. It would be easier to write it up as an equipment fault, but there is no fault a rope and a weight can have. Last month stays as not measured.
H22.6.11 Rain. Level 2.55. Point 1 3.0 / Point 2 3.9 / Point 3 4.8 / Point 4 4.0 / Point 5 2.9
Remarks: Every point is shallower than last year. The silt is coming in. Only Point 3 stays at 4.8, unmoved.
H23.4.8 Fair. Level 2.12. Point 1 3.0 / Point 2 3.8 / Point 3 4.8 / Point 4 4.0 / Point 5 2.8
Remarks: From this year, Point 3 gets measured first. No particular reason. I just want it done while there is daylight. The cherries are late.
H23.10.7 Fair. Level 2.28. Point 1 3.0 / Point 2 3.8 / Point 3 not measured / Point 4 4.0 / Point 5 2.8
Remarks: Third time. The rope seemed to run out fast, but that is a feeling in the hands and there is no way to write it. My knee is going, and getting over the side of the boat takes it out of me.
H24.5.11 Fair. Level 2.20. Point 1 2.9 / Point 2 3.8 / Point 3 4.7 / Point 4 3.9 / Point 5 2.8
Remarks: It reached. But the wet on the rope hauled back up came to around the 11m mark. The rope paid out was about 6m. No rain. The rope is brought out from a dry spot in the shed. The weight touched at 4.7. Writing it down.
H24.6.8 Cloudy. Level 2.33. Point 1 2.9 / Point 2 3.8 / Point 3 4.7 / Point 4 3.9 / Point 5 2.8
Remarks: Replaced the rope with a new one. The old one is not disposed of; it hangs in the shed. The wet has dried with its color changed, right at the 11m mark.
H25.3.29 Fair. Level 2.08. Point 1 2.9 / Point 2 3.7 / Point 3 4.6 / Point 4 3.9 / Point 5 2.7
Remarks: Handover today. Taken all together, even Point 3 reached the bottom far more months than not. A good pond.
H25.4.11 Fair. Level 2.14. Point 1 2.9 / Point 2 3.7 / Point 3 4.6 / Point 4 3.9 / Point 5 2.7
Remarks: None.
